A truly special 3 piece ensemble from Filigree, New Zealand, dating to the 1990s. This is one of those pieces that feels more like wearable art than simply clothing.

The black stretch dress is beautifully adorned with sculptural fabric roses, with the design giving a subtle nod to the New Zealand landscape and the soft, wild forms of toi toi. It is feminine, dramatic and wonderfully understated all at once.

The dress can be worn beautifully on its own, or paired with the sheer organza bolero, which adds another layer of texture and drama. It looks a little unusual on the hanger, but once it has some arms in it, the whole design comes alive.

And then there is the wrap skirt the piece that takes this from beautiful to truly extraordinary. Layering the skirt over the dress creates an artistic silhouette, bringing together contrasting fabrics, transparency, texture and movement.
