About Lea Stein:
Lea Stein began creating her now-iconic brooches in Paris during the 1960s. Renowned for her unique layering technique using cellulose acetate (commonly known as "Rhodoid"), Stein would bond up to 20 thin sheets of the material, often embedding textiles, lace, or metal into the layers. The process could take up to six months to complete. Her designs—ranging from animals to abstract forms—are playful, stylish, and highly sought after by collectors worldwide.
