LEIDSE ZEEDUFFEL DUTCH 1970S COAT | 8

The brand Leidse Zeeduffel is a Dutch brand, famous for perfecting a heavy wool duffel coat. The brands claim to fame is that they work with tradition of boiling the wool using a compression process that makes it naturally windproof, heavily water resistant, and extremely durable. Their full brand name "Bieset Leidse Zeeduffel" translates to "Boiled Sea-Wool" Absence of the International Woolmark symbol, typography, and wooden toggles dates this piece to be late 70s to early 80s during the period in which the brand was ending its primary production run. It no longer makes these, making this is a primary collector's item. Even the Dutch have started putting pieces into their museums as a prized piece of history.

Red hooded jacket has black wooden toggles for closure. The cord that these toggles loop through are on both sides so no matter left or right-handed you can do up your preferred way. Matching toggles on the cuffs.
